The NHL trade deadline is 3:00 pm ET on Friday, March 6, but many teams have been wheeling and dealing long before the final whistle to make a deal. The Minnesota Wild made a big splash with their addition of Team USA member Quinn Hughes to shore up their defense. The Los Angeles Kings focused on adding some offensive punch and acquired Artemi Panarin. Those are arguably the two most impactful deals made ahead of the trade deadline.
Since July 1, 2025, there have been 58 trades in the NHL, with 27 coming in 2026. After a slow February (5 trades) due in part to the freeze, it has ramped up in March, with 12 trades so far this week, including four today.
