Centenary Celebrations and Developments in Bolivian Football

2025 marked a significant milestone for Bolivian football with the celebration of the Bolivia Football Federation’s centenary. The festivities were highlighted by the inauguration of the first pitch at the new national training complex, Casa de la Verde, located in the outskirts of La Paz. This event featured the attendance of FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

The facility, funded by FIFA Forward and CONMEBOL’s Evolution program, represents the first of its kind in Bolivia. It provides the national teams with a dedicated place for training and preparation for international competitions. The launch of this pitch coincides with the centenary of Bolivian football, making it a particularly historic moment.

During the ceremony, Gianni Infantino highlighted the importance of infrastructure and participation in competitions for national development in sports. He emphasized that football has the power to unite people worldwide, echoing FIFA's mission statement.

The inauguration was attended by prominent Bolivian dignitaries and football legends, including the heroes of the 1963 Copa America and the celebrated 1994 World Cup team. Gianni Infantino was also awarded the FBF Grand Gold Medal of Merit, the highest distinction awarded by Bolivian football, in recognition of his contributions.

The establishment of Casa de la Verde is seen as a pivotal development for nurturing young talent and aiming for consistent participation in the World Cup, fulfilling a national aspiration toward competitive excellence in football.
